Porch light memoir (sample)
Memoir · sample draft
This short memoir is a fictional sample of what a finished story can feel like. Every summer on Cedar Street, we painted something — a railing, a swing, once an entire porch that never quite dried before the rain. Dad whistled off-key. June from next door kept the light on until we finished, as if the dark might steal our work. Years later I still measure home by that light: not the house, not the paint, but the people who waited for the story to set. (Sample content only — created for the public demo archive.)
